Beanstack Bonanza

We had over 140 students complete our 1,000 Minute Challenge for our fall semester! These students committed to reading and logging minutes throughout the semester! For each 100 minutes, they earned a prize that they redeemed in the library. Prizes included hat passes, makerspace passes, lunch in the library passes, and much more!

All students who achieved the goal had the opportunity to participate in our Beanstack Bonanza where they were served hot chocolate and popcorn! They spent their reading class period playing games and celebrating with their peers!

For our spring semester challenge, students must read 1,500 minutes from Jan. 15 to April 25. Stay tuned to see what the reward is!

My name is Mrs. Hinze, and I love managing the Rockport Fulton Middle School Library!

Before I was in the library, I taught fourth grade reading at Fulton Learning Center for 10 years. There is nothing I love more than showing students the joy in reading!

I graduated from Texas State, Eat ‘Em Up Cats! After I graduated, I taught for a year in Dominica, a tiny island in the Carribean. Since then, Rockport has been my home!

When I am not reading or helping students find books, I love to travel or do anything in the outdoors!
